You’ve documented your concerns, provided feedback, and yet, the changes have been minimal. This conversation is designed to be a wake-up call. The employee needs to understand that incremental shifts aren’t enough anymore—large, transformative changes in both behavior and mindset are required. This structured conversation will clarify the seriousness of the situation, set clear expectations for improvement, and give the employee an opportunity to take ownership of the process before more formal action (like a performance improvement plan) is necessary.
